What beautiful cats - just gorgeous! Do they like being brushed? My 2 that are long-haired turn into man-eaters when I attempt to brush.
Brushing is near-impossible! I trim the mats when I can, and otherwise, I "finger" them loose. I will catch single hairs near the base of the mat and catch it with my fingernail, pulling it loose from the mat. This loosens the mats so that eventually they can be pulled off. You can use a seam-ripper from your sewing kit, too. The fingernail method is slower.
